Sri Selva Ganapathy Temple is located at Vedathalangadu near Karuvampalayam. Gopinath, who works as a priest in the temple, locked the temple last night and left the temple.
In this situation, when he opened the temple again this morning, he was shocked to find that there was no hundi placed in front of the sanctum sanctorum. Palaniswami, who belongs to the temple's board of trustees, informed the police about this.
Tirupur Central Police, who rushed to the spot, are investigating the theft of the hundi. Investigations revealed that the temple hundi contained Rs.10,000 in cash.
