Thirukkural should be inscribed in stone at Sangagiri Hills - Restoration of Tamil Rights and Uprising Conference in Coimbatore

Minister Senthil Balaji assured that the resolutions and demands passed at the Restoration of Rights of Tamil and Uprising conference will be handed over to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin immediately and appropriate action will be taken. A total of 11 resolutions were passed in the conference


Coimbatore: An International Conference on Tamil on behalf of Coimbatore Tamil Sangamam and Tamil Kappukoottiyakkam was conducted on 25.09.2022 Sunday at Laxmi Kalyana Mandapam, Periyanaickenpalayam. The name of the conference was Restoration of Rights of Tamil and Uprising (Tamil Urimai Meetpu Eluchi Maanaadu).



Speaking at the event, Minister Senthil Balaji said that the resolutions and all the demands passed at the "Tamil Rights Restoration Uprising Conference" held in Coimbatore will be handed over to the Chief Minister tomorrow itself and appropriate action will be taken.

In Coimbatore, the Coimbatore Tamil Sangam and the Tamil Protection Collective organized the "Tamil Rights Restoration Uprising Conference".

Dr. C. Subramanian, former Vice-Chancellor of Thanjavur Tamil University and coordinator of the conference, read out 16 resolutions passed for the Union and Tamil Nadu Governments at the conference held at a private auditorium at Periya Naickanpalayam on Mettupalayam Road in Coimbatore.

The following resolutions were proposed by Dr.C.Subramaniam the Coordinator of the conference and passed by the participants of the conference.

1. Resolved to request the Government of Tamilnadu to introduce Tamil as the medium of instructions in all schools and colleges.

2. Resolved to request the Government of Tamilnadu to see that all the Government orders, Proceedings and Communications from the offices of the Government of Tamilnadu, Universities, Colleges and Schools should be in Tamil.

3. Resolved to request the Government of India and Government of Tamilnadu to implement Tamil as the language for communication in all the courts including High Court of Madras.

4. Resolved to request the Government of Tamilnadu to announce all the 22 languages in the 8th schedule as the official language.

5. Resolved to request the Government of Tamilnadu to implement Tamil as the language for conducting all poojas in temples and all rituals in all the functions in the society.

6. Resolved to request UNESCO to announce Thirukkural as Universal literature like that of Bible.

7. Resolved to request the Government of India to sanction sufficient amount and relevant orders to inscribe all the 1330 Thirukkurals in one of the hills in Sankagiri.

8. Resolved to request the Government of Tamilnadu to reserve 80% of the Government appointments to the applicants who studied through Tamil medium.

9. Resolved to request the Government of India to Publish a stamp in memory of Tholkappiyar in the first day of Chithirai.

10. Resolved to request the Government of Tamilnadu to announce the month of Chithirai as the month of Tholkappiyar.

11. Resolved to request the Government of India to make announcements in Tamil in the flights that depart from Tamilnadu and arrive at the Airports of Tamilnadu.

Minister V Senthil Balaji in his valedictory speech announced that the Tamilnadu Government has made allotment of Rs.82 crores for Tamil Development. He assured that the resolutions of the conference will be brought to the notice of the CM and will request him to implement it as soon as possible. Santhalinga Ramasamy Adigalar, Kumaragurubara Adigalar, Duraisamy, Pulavar Appavu, Pulavar Raveendaran, Mani, Kanagasubramani and others were involved in organising the conference.
