Coimbatore SDPI office-bearer attacked: Two Hindu activists arrested

Four days ago in Kannappa Nagar, the police arrested and jailed two members of the Hindu organization, Padiyappa and Nanda Prakash, in connection with an incident in which an SDPI official named Javarullah was assaulted.


Coimbatore: Jabarullah (42) hails from Kannappan Nagar, Coimbatore. He has been an executive of SDPI (Social Democratic Party of India).

Two days ago, there was an argument between him and Vignesh of the Hindu Front in the same area and Padayappa (28) and Nanda Prakash (27) of the Bharat Sena organization in the same area.

Following this, the three members of the Hindu organization attacked Jabarullah from the SDPI organization. Jabarullah also allegedly attacked Hindu organizations. Following this, Vignesh of Hindu Munnani and SDPI Jabarullah were admitted to Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment with injuries.

When the Ratnapura police conducted an investigation in this regard, on the basis of the complaint given by Jabarullah, Badayappa, Vignes and Nanda Prakash belonging to the Hindu Front and Bharat Sena were charged under Section 294(b) of attempted murder, threatening to kill, causing injury with weapons, speaking obscenely, damaging public property. A case was registered under 6 sections 323, 324, 327, 506(ii) of the Tamil Nadu Property (Prevention of Damage and Loss) Act.

Similarly, based on the complaint filed by Vignesh of Hindu Munnani, a case was registered against Jabarullah belonging to the STBI under 4 counts of threatening to kill, causing injury, causing injury with weapons and speaking obscenely.

In this case, the police arrested both Padayappa and Nanda Prakash from the Bharat Sena in the name of the complaint given by Jabarullah. Both the arrested persons were produced in court and lodged in Coimbatore Central Jail.

It is to be noted that the investigation has revealed that the attack was not an attack between two factions but was due to a personal problem between them.
