Police introduce more patrol vehicle to prevent crime in Ooty

A four-wheeler patrol vehicle was introduced in Coonoor on Sunday to control traffic congestion and prevent crime in the Nilgiris district.


The Nilgiris: To prevent crime in Coonoor, Nilgiris district, various activities are being carried out by the police department. The police department will patrol the main areas of Coonoor from Coonoor bus stand via Mount Pleasant Road to Otu Pattara along with a two-wheeler.

Similarly Defense Service Stop College, Ranu Center, Black Bridge areas will also be patrolled. A third vehicle from Coonoor Bus Station to Vandicholai via Sims, Bedport, YMCA, Providence College and a fourth vehicle from Katta Petu to Aravenu under Kotagiri Police Station will be deployed on patrol duty.
