"Strict action will be taken against those spreading rumours on social media platforms about threat to safety in city:" Coimbatore City Police

Over 5000 police personnel deployed in Coimbatore to ensure the city remains safe and peaceful. Police encourage locals to carry on day-to-day routines without any fear of threat to safety.

Coimbatore: Even as rumours are rife through posts and audio files on WhatsApp, Twitter and other social media platforms that people should not travel to Coimbatore on September 26 and that locals in Coimbatore are not safe, the Coimbatore City Police warned that strict action will be taken against those spreading such rumours.
