Dravida Mani, husband of DMK councillor Aadhi Maheshwari, has been accused of speaking to sanitation workers at the health office in an authoritative manner ordering them to work.
Coimbatore: There have already been complaints that many of the women candidates who won in the recently held local body elections are namesake councillors. It’s their husbands in the party who are doing the job of inspecting the ward and taking decisions.
The video of a DMK councillor's husband misbehaving with employees at the health office under ward 61 of Coimbatore corporation has gone viral on social media.
Aadhi Maheshwari is the DMK councillor in the 61st ward of coimbatore corporation.
He sat on the health inspector's seat at the health office under ward 61 at around 6 am yesterday and inspected the attendance register of the health workers in an authoritative manner.
He allegedly behaved in a manner that threatened the health workers.
"I will decide for myself where the health workers want to go and only do the work I tell you to do," he was accused of stating.
The incident was videographed by a person present there with his mobile phone.
The video has now gone viral on social media and has created a stir.
“Who empowered the councillor's husband to interfere in municipal corporation work? Is he a health inspector? Not a regional inspector?”, questioned angry workers.
The Tamil Nadu Annal Ambedkar Health Sanitation and Public Workers Association has complained to the Corporation Commissioner about the incident which has caused a frown on their faces.
It has been requested that the City Commissioner should intervene in this matter and take appropriate action to ensure that such incidents do not take place in other wards.
