This is the third time that the welding accessories shop owned by Mohan, the BJP's Rathinapuri Zonal President, is being targeted. In the last two blasts, Rs.1.5 lakh loss had been incurred.
Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a petrol bomb was hurled at the welding accessories shop of a BJP functionary, Mohan, on 100 feet road in Coimbatore. Mohan is the BJP Zonal President of Rathinapuri in Coimbatore district.
On Friday morning, Mohan's son Mahendran who arrived at the shop discovered that a petrol bomb had been hurled at the shop.
A shocked Mohan immediately informed the police who rushed to the spot and are investigating the incident.
Reacting to the incident, BJP leader Mohan said, "This is the third time that a petrol bomb has been hurled at the shop. In the last two blast incidents, we incurred about Rs. 1.5 lakhs. No proper action was taken in the last two times. Therefore, this time, we demand that the police should take appropriate action.
A tense situation prevailed in Coimbatore city, following a series of incidents of petrol bombs being hurled at BJP leaders vehicles and property.
