Over 2,000 police personnel have been deployed across Coimbatore city in the wake of the discovery of bottles filled with petrol and kerosene with lighting threads near BJP office in Siddhapudur and Variety Hall road in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: A glass bottle filled with petrol was found with a thread in front of the BJP city district office located on V K K Menon Road in Siddhapudur in Coimbatore.
Similarly, in Variety Hall Road, a bottle filled with kerosene was found in front of a shop.
Coimbatore City Police Commissioner V Balakrishnan said that three special teams have been formed under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Vincent to investigate the incidents. He said the police are actively working to nab those who tried to carry out the untoward incident.
Accordingly, the police are conducting an inspection at all the check-posts, including those staying in the lodge and interrogating those who are suspected to be on two-wheelers.
Around 2,000 police personnel are deployed across Coimbatore city. Additional police personnel have been deployed, especially in Hindu and Muslim places of worship.
It is to be noted that due to these two incidents, the entire city of Coimbatore has come under the control of the police.
