The renovation of estate roads in and around Valparai, which had been lying potholed for years, began with the bhoomi pooja in the presence of Municipality Commissioner Balu, presided over by Municipality President Alagusundaravalli.
Coimbatore: The renovation of potholed roads in and around Valparai estate areas began today under the leadership of Municipality President Azhagusundaravalli with a 'bhoomi pooja'.
The roads in the estate areas around Valparai have been potholed for the past few years.

People were finding it difficult to get vehicles on this road.
In this situation, it was planned to construct new roads on behalf of Valparai Municipality and tender was floated. The tender for the 14-km stretch from Solaiyar Estate to Sangili Road Estate was floated for Rs 13.5 crore.
The bhoomi pooja for the road renewal work was held today. The work was started under the leadership of Municipality President Alagusundaravalli and in the presence of Municipal Commissioner Balu by performing bhoomi pooja for the renovation of the road in Mudis area.

Ward members in Valparai area, Mudis estate management, DMK caders and those who have taken tenders to work were among those who attended the event.
