Generator problem at Annur Government Hospital: Pregnant woman shifted to private hospital for surgery

While all arrangements were made for the surgery of the pregnant woman who was admitted to the Annur Government Hospital, the generator did not start working immediately after a sudden power cut happened and the family rushed the pregnant woman to a private hospital.

Coimbatore: Vigneswaran and Vanmathi hail from Uthupalayam village near Annur in Coimbatore district. Vanmathi, who was pregnant, was brought to the Annur government hospital by her husband for delivery.

At that time, the doctors suggested that Vanmathi should be operated upon and arrangements were being made for it. In this case, there was a sudden power outage at the hospital.

Meanwhile, Vanmathi could not be operated upon as the generator was not working on time. Vigneswaran then took his wife in an ambulance and admitted her to a nearby private hospital. There she gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

From there, the child and the mother were shifted to a private hospital in Coimbatore for further treatment. They are being treated continuously there.

With a pregnant woman going to a private hospital for surgery because of generatornot working, has caused much discontent and fear among the patients undergoing treatment in the government hospital.

Apart from this, there is a question among the public as to what would have happened to the pregnant woman if there had been a power cut during the surgery.

Therefore, the government should immediately meet the medical needs of the Annur Government Hospital. The public have demanded that the hospital should be maintained well so that there is no power cut.
