Coimbatore: In the academic year 2021-22, the Department of School Education has announced that the Kamaraj Award will be given to top students who are not only interested in academics but also in extra curricular in 10, +2.
Former CM Kamaraj's birthday is celebrated as the Education Development Day. On this occasion, the Kamaraj Award was given only to the best performing government schools.
In this case, since the academic year 2016-17, Kamarajar Award has been given to the students who have studied in the Tamil medium and who achieve high scores in the general examination and also achieve in their special abilities. In the last academic year 2021-22, various districts including Coimbatore have been ordered by the school education department to select 15 best students each, who have studied in class 10, plus 2, at the district level.
Since this award is given only to government school students who have studied in Tamil medium, it has been informed to prepare and send a list of eligible students for Kamaraj Award to students in class 10th and Plus 2 who are excelled not only in academics but also in extra curricular activities.
