After police questioned the three men who were standing suspiciously near Tirupur's Jaivabai School, the men admitted that they were involved in robbing people at the Tirupur railway station tunnel at night.
Tirupur: The police have arrested three men who were involved in serial robberies by threatening people who were passing through the tunnel of the Tirupur railway station, at night.
Recently, the Tirupur North Police Station Crime Branch received information that there have been frequent robberies in the areas under the Tirupur North Police Station. Following this, the police formed a special force and have been searching the city for the miscreants. In this case, the police have arrested three people who were standing suspiciously near Tirupur's Jaivabai School.
The police got suspicious when the trio gave contradictory answers on being questioned at the police station. They were identified as Arun from Tirupur Mannarai, Rahul from Coimbatore and Ajith from Madurai. All three confessed that they used to intercept people passing through the railway station tunnel at night and threaten them with knives to rob them of their mobile phones and cash.
Subsequently, the police arrested the three men, seized a cell phone and a knife from them and imprisoned the three.
