In an effort to create an atmosphere of harmony between the police and the general public, 10 teams representing the Police Department will participate in the competition, while a total of 64 teams will participate on behalf of the public.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Police has announced that cricket matches between the general public and the Police Department will be held as the CCP Cup at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) grounds in an effort to create an atmosphere of harmony between the police and the general public. The CCP Cup will be held from September 24 to 30.
Speaking to reporters, the City Police Commissioner V Balakrishnan said, "On behalf of the Coimbatore City Police Department, in order to maintain the cordial relations between the police and the public, these competitions are being held to create awareness among the youth to prevent drug addiction and prevent accidents caused by high speeding among the youth.
The matches will be held separately for the police and separately for the general public. A total of 10 teams from the Police Department and 64 teams from the general public will take part in the competition. The league matches of the tournament will be held at the Coimbatore TNAU grounds while the final will be played on October 2 at the PSG IM Stadium.
A first prize of Rs.25,000, a second prize of Rs.15,000, a third prize of Rs.7,500 and a fourth prize of Rs.3,000 will be awarded.
