Coimbatore to host South Asia's first-ever International Foundry Expo at CODISSIA from Sep. 15-17

60 exhibitors are from Coimbatore and 20,000-25,000 visitors are expected to attend this exhibition-cum-allied conference.

Coimbatore: The Foundries Development Foundation (FDF), headquartered in Coimbatore is to host the 'Interfoundry Interdiecast Exhibition and Allied Conference' in Coimbatore from September 15-17.

This exhibition is promoted as South Asia's first-of-its-kind International Exhibition and Allied Conference focused on Future Technologies in Equipment, Process and Materials of the foundry sector.

A press conference was held on Tuesday at the C R Swaminathan Hall in Elysium Central where members of FDF and the event's organizing committee led by R Palanisamy, the Chairman of the Committee and Nithyanandan Devaraj, Co-Chairman briefed the members of the press and media about the Expo.

180 exhibitors of the Foundry Industry will be participating in the Expo from across India and the globe. MNCs from Czechoslovakia, Germany and Thailand will have direct participation while Japan, Italy and China will have indirect participation through their dealers in India. 60 exhibitors are from Coimbatore and 20,000-25,000 visitors are expected to attend this exhibition-cum-allied conference.

FDF's ultimate focus behind hosting this event is to educate and illuminate the Coimbatore Foundry Cluster about the latest developments in the Foundry sector. Hence, around 5000 to 7000 foundry men who are directly involved in Foundry works will be brought to the Expo via dedicated buses to witness the modern developments in this sector. They will also be dropped off at their respective offices after the exhibition.

Close to 30 new products will be presented at the exhibition by exhibitors. The respective exhibitors will be presenting in detail their products including their application, features, efficiency and cost to the participants at Hall A and Hall B of Codissia Trade Fair Complex.

"Coimbatore has 600+ foundries generating crores of rupees via sales. Despite its huge status as a Foundry Hub, the foundrymen here have a very limited idea about the latest technological developments in all walks of the foundry sector. Only when these technologies are brought to Coimbatore, the foundries here can witness them. Hence, such an event has been arranged so that the entire Foundry sector here can prosper," stated R Palanisamy.

"Today every sector is going towards Industry 4.0, unless we upgrade ourselves we cannot withstand the competition. As of late, automation in any industry is becoming unavoidable. So this exhibition will also include the latest software, automation, and industry 4.0 solutions," he added.

R Palanisamy also stated, "The middle management and top management of Foundries can see this and implement them in their organization. Whatever developments they lacked to explore in the last 5-6 years, they can see here and take it to their units," he added.

The Exhibition will be inaugurated by Hans Raj Verma, Chairman, Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation (TIIC), M Manickam, Chairman, Sakthi Group and R Nandini, Chairperson, Chandra Group on September 15th.
