Former Minister S P Velumani alleged that Chief Minister M K Stalin sees him as his main enemy because he was loyal to the AIADMK party and not allowing the previous AIADMK government to fall.
Coimbatore: Even as the DVAC raided the house of former AIADMK Minister S P Velumani from Tuesday morning till 6 pm for about 8 hours, S P Velumani spoke later to reporters at his residence in Sugunapuram in Coimbatore saying, "This the third time that a raid has been conducted at my house by the DVAC to avenge political vendetta."
"The DMK continues to misuse the police. No Chief Minister has behaved like this. No evidence was found in this raid. They took away Rs.7,500 in cash and small items, including amma's earrings. Nothing had been seized in any of the raids. Stalin tried to topple the AIADMK Government after the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. Now they are filing a case because I supported Edappadi K Palaniswami then.

The AIADMK party retained the two leaves (Irattai Ilai) symbol. This led the DMK to seek political revenge. The DVAC raid was also carried out to divert attention from the electricity tariff hike. The DMK government has done nothing for the public. They are only intent on taking full revenge on the AIADMK and hence the DMK is doing politics with the police through raids," alleged S P Velumani.
"Whenever my case comes up in Court, they are engaged in the act of spreading false news. We cooperated fully during the DVAC raids. Shirts of AIADMK cadres and lawyers were ripped off, and the police tortured them and locked them up in halls which shows the police's excesses. This is the culmination of political vendetta," he added.
S P Velumani vowed that the AIADMK will win the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. "Edappadi will become the Chief Minister again. The LED scheme was brought in during Jayalalithaa's regime. The DMK is filing a false case without any evidence by conducting these raids. All the contracts are in accordance with the law. If Stalin wants to intimidate me, it is not possible. Bribery is rampant in the DMK regime. In the last one-and-a-half years of coming to power, the Stalin family has borrowed more than Rs.5,000 crore from Ministers.
The DMK government is an impotent Government which has not fullfilled any of its electoral promises but has blackmailed the media and kept the police as a stooge," slammed S P Velumani in his tirade against the DMK while speaking to the media at his residence in Coimbatore.
