Coimbatore: A 14-year-old orphaned girl from Kinathukadavu has filed a petition at the District Collectorate and the District SP's office alleging that relatives were threatening to kill her in order to grab her parents' property near Kinathukadavu.
Ever since the girl's parents died due to ill-health, the girl has been raised by her grandmother in Pollachi. The 14-year-old has now filed a complaint alleging that her paternal uncle and his family were frequently threatening to kill her and her grandmother to grab her parents' property.
In her petition, the girl also alleged that her uncle had filed a false complaint against her at the Kinathukadavu police station alleging she was guilty of theft. However, the complainant also pointed out that the police themselves had said that there was nothing wrong with her after investigating the complaint.
The girl petitioned the Coimbatore District Collector G S Sameeran and the Superintendent of Police, V Badrinarayanan seeking protection for herself and her grandmother, as well as for her belongings and property.
