Coimbatore: An explanation notice on the public toilet issue in Amman Kulam area under Ward No. 66 of Coimbatore Corporation was released by the Coimbatore Corporation Deputy Commissioner, M Sharmila.
The released report states that the Corporation toilet at Amman Kulam area under Coimbatore Corporation Ward No.66 was constructed in 1995 and toilet facilities were provided for both men and women. In addition, separate toilets were designed for children without doors so that the children could use them under the supervision of adults. This will also eliminate the problem of children locking the door and getting stuck inside.
The Coimbatore Corporation Deputy Commissioner, M Sharmila stated that the repair and maintenance work for the toilet is already in progress. Since the specially-designed toilets for children were not being used, a decision had already been taken to convert the children’s toilets for adults, and that work was underway. The notice also mentioned that the work would be completed soon and made available for public use.
