Coimbatore: The Rotaract Club of Coimbatore CACIL in association with the Innerwheel Club of Coimbatore East donated and installed a Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine worth Rs.5000 at St. Mary’s Girls Higher Secondary School in Coimbatore.

Organic pads made from Kenaf Fibres were provided, supported by Bliss Natural, an organic napkin manufacturing start-up based in Coimbatore. The Machine was launched and its usage was demonstrated to the students in the presence of Radha Prasad – Past District Chairperson – Innerwheel Club of Coimbatore East, Rtr. P P Aghil and Rtr. I P P Sabarinathan - District Council Members of RID 3201.

After the installation of the machine, a session on Menstrual Hygiene Awareness was organized for the students to give them insights on menstruation along with guidance on the safe usage and disposal of sanitary napkins.

The session was handled by Dr. Mithra Prasad, a consultant Hepatologist at VGM Hospital, Coimbatore. Nearly 320 students attended the session and benefitted from it.

During the course of the event, the Headmistress of the school, St. Maria Selvi was honoured on the occasion of Teacher’s Day in the presence of Rtr. Farhan and Joyce Thomas, the Presidents of the two clubs.
