The north district youth wing president of the Makkal Pathukappu Amaipu of Ram Colony on Kongu Main Road in Tirupur climbed on to a cell phone tower and staged a protest.
Tirupur: In a shocking incident, a youth climbed on to a mobile phone tower in Kallakurichi and staged a protest demanding a proper probe into the case of Srimathi, a student who died after falling from a school building in Kallakurichi.
There is a cell phone tower near Miller Bus Stop on P.N. Road, Tirupur.

A young man who came there suddenly climbed on to the cell phone tower with pamphlets and raised slogans.
Seeing his act, the neighbours informed the Tirupur North police station about the incident. Following this, police rushed to the spot and held talks with the young man who was standing on top of the cellphone tower and advised him to get down.

Later, during the interrogation of the person who got down, the police said, the youth has been identified as Manoj Kumar (20), a resident of Ram Colony on Kongu Main Road, Tirupur. It was also revealed that he was the president of the north district youth wing of theMakkal Pathukappu Amaipu.
He also demanded that the case of Srimathi, a student who died at a private school in Kallakurichi, be properly investigated. He also demanded that the bail granted to those involved in the case be cancelled.
Similarly, he said he had been protesting to press for demands for the release of Muslim prisoners who had been in jail for a long time.
Following this, Manoj Kumar was taken to the police station by the police. Due to the incident, there was a tense atmosphere in the area for a few hours.
