AIADMK Councillors Prabhakaran and Ramesh raised banners and slogans in protest, in front of Victoria Hall in Coimbatore, insisting that the Vellalore bus stand should not be relocated and that work should not be abandoned.
Coimbatore: A committee meeting is being held at the Victoria Hall under the chairmanship of Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar. Members of the Council participated in the committee meeting and presented their demands.

Recently, when there were reports that the Vellalore bus stand under construction in Coimbatore was being relocated, Minister Senthil Balaji had stated in an interview that it would be decided according to the opinion of the Cabinet meeting and the public. Therefore, itwas expected that a decision or information regarding the relocation of Vellalore bus station will be released at the committee meeting on Monday.
AIADMK Councillors Prabhakaran and Ramesh protested in front of the city's Victoria Hall raising slogans and demanding that the Vellalore bus station should not be relocated and that work already being done should not be abandoned. Later, they attended the meeting.

Both Councillors questioned why the ongoing works were being abandoned. "People's tax money will be wasted if the bus stand is being relocated. 200 crores have already been allocated for repairing the damaged roads in Coimbatore and hence roads have to be repaired immediately," they reiterated.
