Kadeswara Subramaniam added that Ganesha idols will be installed at 1.5 lakh places across Tamil Nadu, and prayers will be offered at 1200 places in Tirupur this year.
Tirupur: Appealing to the DMK Government to cooperate in allowing people to celebrate Ganesh Chathurthi across the State, Hindu Munnani State President Kadeswara Subramaniam stated at a press conference in Tirupur that the AIADMK and DMK Governments had wanted to ban Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, every year but in spite of that, they continued to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi.
"The School Education Department officials have issued a circular to all schools asking the Dravidian Government to conduct an essay competition on Periyar. It was Periyar who said that Tamil is a barbaric language and there was no need for freedom. There is a conspiracy to bring Periyar history into the curriculum," opined the Hindu Munnani President condemning the move.
"We will also install Ganesha idols at 1.5 lakh places across Tamil Nadu. In Tirupur, we are going to offer prayers at 1200 places. Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated this year with the theme 'Pirivinaivaadhaththai Muriyadippom Desiya Sinthanaiyai Valarppom.' The BJP State President, Annamalai will participate in the Vinayagar Chaturthi event in Tirupur while H Raja will participate in Coimbatore.
He added, "The installation of Ganesha idols in homes is also increasing year after year. Ganesh Chaturthi has been celebrated since 1983. Ever since, both AIADMK and DMK Governments have thought of banning Ganesh Chaturthi every year. We appeal to the DMK Government to cooperate in helping us celebrate this year's festival."
The Hindu Munnani President also slammed the intelligence agencies for not functioning properly. "People migrating from Bangladesh are staying here illegally. There are Maoists in places like Tirupur. There is a situation where Tamil Nadu is being targeted and there will be riots at any time," warned Kadeswara Subramaniam.
