After the elephant returned to the forest area, passersby rescued Aruldas and rushed him to the Valparai Government Hospital in a 108 ambulance in the Villoni Estate area. He is presently being treated at the hospital.
Coimbatore: A man was rushed to the Valparai Government Hospital after he was chased and attacked by a wild elephant at an Adivasi village near Valparai.
The movement of wild elephants in Valparai area of Coimbatore district has been on the rise. Wild elephants leave the forest cover and roam around in tea gardens and residential areas in search of food. Around 200 people live in Nedungundram Adivasi village near Valparai, and Arul Das is from that same village. He went to the Villoni Estate shop near the village and was returning back to Nedungundram village when suddenly a lone wild elephant emerged from the forest area and chased and attacked Aruldas.
Aruldas suffered a leg injury in the elephant attack. After the elephant returned to the forest area, passersby rescued Aruldas and rushed him to the Valparai Government Hospital in a 108 ambulance in the Villoni Estate area.
He is presently being treated at the hospital.
