Addressing at the government function, the minister said that the Chief Minister has graced the city by his visit, which was a meeting point for Periyar, Anna and Kalaignar. While noting that the government has not differentiated people on the grounds of religion, caste, or party affiliation he said all are benefited under the current dispensation.

The minister also noted that the Aliyar dam water issue is being politicized in some quarters and added that the AIADMK government though, boasted of 50 years of growth in five years, but the reality is different. In some places, there exist only mud roads and not proper roads.

The Vellalore bus stand project would be implemented as per the decision of the municipality and public views taken from the general public.

While noting the unprecedented nature of welfare measures distributed in the Eachanai function he said, so far 1.32 lakh beneficiaries have availed welfare measures in the district.
