Coimbatore: Heeding to the demands of the MSME sector, steps would be taken to reduce electricity tariffs for fixed charges and demand charges said, Minister Senthil Balaji here, on Tuesday.
Briefing the media after visiting the function venue at Eachanari where the CM M.K. Stalin is to take part in a government function tomorrow, the Minister said that the losses incurred by the TANGEDCO have led to the tariff revision.
The Minister said that Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission would submit its report after taking into consideration the demands of the MSME sector and the financial status of the TANGECO before announcing concessions in the revised electricity tariff.
However, revised tariffs on household consumption would remain the same, he noted.
Further adding the Minister said that a rousing reception would be accorded to the CM who would land at the Coimbatore airport on his four-day tour of the region today evening.. Proper arrangements have been made with enough police strength to make CM's visit a grand success, as he is to distribute welfare measures to a whopping number of beneficiaries in government functions in two districts.
Traffic diversions have also been made without causing any inconvenience during his visit, the minister added.
When answering a query as to the comparison of DMK and BJP, the minister said that it is impractical to compare a party that competes only with NOTA with the DMK. The BJP was not able to register a victory in none of the wards in the city, the Minister noted.
He also blamed the media for projecting the BJP which has little political presence in the state as something of a political force.
