Coimbatore: Rajamanickham (23) a painter residing in Vadavalli area of Coimbatore died on the spot and two other pillion riders sustained serious injuries when the two-wheeler in which they were traveling collided head on against a TNSTC bus near Pudupalayam at Thondamurthur, here.
While Rajamanickham died on the spot, Tahir and Vasantha Kumar have been rescued and sent to CMCH by ambulance for treatment.The trio has been traveling on the same bike when the accident occurred.
Meanwhile, Thondamuthur police recovered the body of Rajamanickham and sent it for postmortem. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
While allegations are rife that the youngsters were under the influence of alcohol when the accident took place, police informed that it could be confirmed only after post mortem examination.
