The CB-CID police held inquiries with 250 people in Coimbatore who own Maruthi Suzuki Versa model car, in connection with the sensational murder of K.N. Ramajeyam, the younger brother of Minister K.N. Nehru in 2012.
Coimbatore: The CB-CID police special investigation team headed by DIG Shakeel Akhtar, which took up the probe in the sensational murder of K.N. Ramajeyam, the younger brother of Minister K.N. Nehru held investigation in Coimbatore. here today.
K.N. Ramajeyam, an industrialist of Trichy, was murdered under mysterious circumstance in March 2012 when he was taking his routine morning walk. He was abductednear Thillai Nagar in the city, where he was murdered and body disposed on Trichy- Kallanai road.
Trichy police who took up the initial investigation in the case did not make any headway even after a lapse of 10 years. Recently, a special investigation team was constituted by the present Government to expedite the case and bring the culprits to book.
In this scenario, a Maruti Suzuki Versa model car which had been used by the abductors during the murder plot is regarded a crucial evidence in the case. Thus far, the CBCID have held inquiries with 2,400 owners of Maruti Suzuki Versa model all over the state to get a breakthrough in the case.
In continuation of the same, inquiries were held with 250 owners of the car model in Coimbatore, today.
Earlier wall posters have been pasted announcing a bounty for those who come up with vital clues regarding the case but to no avail.
