During the inspection, the Information Minister M P Saminathan inquired of the officials about the system of allotment of shops to farmers.
Tirupur: The Tamil Nadu Information and Publicity Minister M P Saminathan conducted a surprise inspection at Thennampalayam Farmers' Market, early this morning. He heard the grievances and demands of the farmers who were engaged in business at that time.
The farmers put forward their grievances and requested to improve basic facilities like street lights and drinking water in the Farmers' Market.
Following this, Minister M P Saminathan who inspected the Thennampalayam Farmers' Market office inquired about the method of allotment of shops to the farmers.
Tirupur Municipal Corporation Mayor Dinesh Kumar, Assembly Member Selvaraj, Tirupur District Collector Vineeth and Corporation Commissioner Kranthi Kumar Pati were present at the inspection.
Farmers from different parts of the district bring in their vegetables for sale at the Farmers' Market operating in Thennampalayam area. Locals from different parts of Tirupur visit the market from 4 am to 8 am, to buy vegetables.
