Five college students from Coimbatore arrested for selling ganja near Nava India

Police arrested five college students on charges of selling ganja at the Nava India area, here today. Upon investigation, the arrested took to selling ganja to lead a lavish lifestyle.


Coimbatore: Police arrested five college students on charges of selling ganja at the Nava India area, here today.

Following information that banned tobacco products including ganja are sold to customers near an apartment in Nava India, the Peelamedu police who scoured the area rounded up five youngsters and seized 200 grams of ganja from them.

Upon investigation, the arrested persons are studying at a college in the Nava India area and they took to selling ganja to lead a lavish lifestyle. They rented a room outside and used it to source the contraband from the Neikarappatti, Dindigul district.

The names of the arrested are given as Surya (21) of Gandhinagar second street, Tirupur, Kaviarasu(19), Manojkumar (19), and Ilayabharathi (19) of Pichampalayam Pudur and Aravinth of Kasigoundanpudur.
