Coimbatore: Police recovered the body of Praveen Annathada (33), a PG medical student of Coimbatore Medical College was found dead in a private hostel room, here.
According to police, the student, who was studying second-year M.D (Neurology) had allegedly ended his life by consuming poison.
Praveen Annathada, a native of Nellore in Andhra Pradesh had completed his MBBS from Dr. MGR Medical University and joined the PG course at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH). When the college authorities asked him to submit the original certificates, the student informed his parents to arrange for the same.
In the meanwhile, Praveen had not attend college from August 6. When all efforts to contact him through the cell phone failed, the college authorities contacted his parents, who in turn informed the Peelamedu police.
Police who broke open the door found him dead in his room and recovered a poison bottle from the room. The recovered body was sent for postmortem.
A case had been filed in this regard and further investigations are on.
