In Coimbatore, the police arrested a youth for impregnating a 17-year-old girl under POCSO Act after luring her with a promise to marry her.
Ramesh Kumar (27), working as a labourer reportedly lured a 17-year-old girl in his neighbourhood with the promise of marrying her and impregnated her.
Following this, the girl's parents filed a complaint with the Karumathambatti police who brought Ramesh Kumar to the police station and investigated. The investigation revealed that the girl was impregnated. Later, the police registered a case, arrested Ramesh Kumar under the Child Marriage and POCSO Act. He was produced in court and imprisoned in jail.
