Annur police removed a controversial sign board informing that a given area under Kaduvettipalayam panchayat in Annur of Coimbatore district as an exclusive living zone for Hindus. Investigations are underway.


Coimbatore: Annur police removed a controversial sign board informing that a given area under Kaduvettipalayam panchayat in Annur of Coimbatore district as an exclusive living zone for Hindus.

According to police, some unidentified persons have erected the factious sign board "This area is exclusive only for Hindus. Missionary activities or meetings are prohibited in the area. The trespassers will be punished."

The police further said no police cases in this regard were filed, as there was no formal police complaint received so far. However, inquiries will be made and action taken against the divisive forces who put up the banner, the police added.
