The cable laying work from Ukkadam tank to Substation stretch has been completed and testing works have begun. Power cuts likely to happen in Ukkadam and Karumbukadai areas when testing is carried out.
Coimbatore: The 110 KW underground cable laying works being carried out at Ukkadam, which was taken up a few months back in order to facilitate the implementation of the ongoing fly over project have been completed and testing would be conducted at the site, according to official sources.
The underground cable laying works for HT wires were taken up as the overhead wires proved a hindrance for the implementation of 450- Crore flyover project near Ukkadam Bus stand.
The cable line was laid from Ukkadam tank to Substation stretch. Power supply would be affected in Ukkadam and Karumbukadai areas when testing is carried out in underground cable system, said a press release from TANGEDCO Chief Engineer.
