According to the organisers, the three-day yagam was aimed at dispelling bad omen and bringing in prosperity for farmers and traders community of Tirupur and Coimbatore regions.
Coimbatore: Thousands of farmers took part in the "Maha Chandi Yagam" seeking good harvest. The event was jointly organised by farmers and traders community at Negamum, Kallipatti Pirivu near Pollachi.

The special yagam with a homa gundam and accompaniment ofchanting of mantras was performed to seek the blessings of Chandi devi (Goddess Sakthi)for a good and bounteous crop year and flourishing of trading activities.

According to the organisers of the yagam, the three day yagam was aimed at dispellingbad omen and bringing in prosperity for farmers and traders community of Tirupur and Coimbatore regions.
"The procurement prices have gone down in the past few years and the trade is also going through lean times in the aftermath of Covid-19 pandemic, so a Yagam was organised to dispel the bad omen and to bring in prosperity again" the organisers said.
