Krishna Jayanti: TPDK petitions CEO against schools forcing students to don Krishna make-up

The functionaries of TPDK petitioned the Chief Education Officer, against a purported audio, in which Kindergarten children have been asked to wear Krishna or Radha make- up and attend school to celebrate Krishna Jayanthi.

Coimbatore: The functionaries of Thandai Periyar Dravida Kazhagam (TPDK) petitioned the Chief Education Officer (CEO) against a purported audio, in which Kindergarten children have been asked to wear Krishna or Radha make- up and attend school to celebrate Krishna Jayanthi, tomorrow.

In the audio, which is attributed to a school authority directions were given to the parents of kindergarten students to send their wards to school dressed up as Krishna or Radha.

Led by Sajith, the City Secretary, the cadres of TPDK urged the CEO not to allow such practices in schools, where children of all religion are present.

"This would also add economic pressure for the middle class parents, as they have to buy fancy dresses, spend for makeup" they argued in their petition.

Sajith also added that the CEO who received the petition informed that he would send an officials circular to the schools with regard to the issue.

In the meanwhile, the said audio clip purportedly spoken by a school teacher is doing rounds in social media, where the parents have been asked to pack a extra dress for their children as the children could not spend all day in Krishna or Radha make up.
