DMK District Secretary (East) Marudamalai Senapathi's name has been included in the list of special guests for the "Ganapathi Homan' ritual by Hindu Munnani. However, he has responded to the allegation that his consent was not sought and his name was misused.

Coimbatore: The name of the top DMK functionary mentioned in the printed invitation and poster for the forthcoming Vinayagar Chathruthi celebrations on behalf of Hindu Munnani, had created a flutter among city denizens.

The name of DMK District Secretary(East district) Marudamalai Senapathi's name has been included in the list of special guests and invitees for the "Ganapathi Homan' ritual and Idol Visarjana procession on the occasion of Vinayagar Chathurthi to be celebrated on August 31.

However, when contacted, DMK District Secretary(East district) Marudamalai Senapathi, whose name has been included clarified that his name has been added without his consent and he has also issued a public statement condemning the act. He also appealed to avoid any such confusion by adding his name without obtaining a formal consent.

The general public have wondered at the poster and invitation as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced that he wouldn't compromise even slightly with BJP or RSS, or bow before them. The incident in which a leading DMK functionary has been included in the religious function has raised many eye brows.

However, in the public statement issued by Marudamalai Senathipathi, he has condemned the incident in which his name was included in the guest list. He also urged the function organizers not to include his name without obtaining a formal consent from him in future.

In the meanwhile, it may be noted that as per the invitation former minister S.P.Velumani is to take part in the function organized on September 1 by the same Hindu outfit.
