Violating the flag code, a resident of Machampalayam near Sundarapuram has written a religious slogan beneath the flag " Jesus, bless our country India" and he has not lowered the flag even after independence day celebrations have ended. Kuniamuthur police are investigating the issue.
Coimbatore: Even though flag code stipulates certain conditions and to avoid insult to the national flag, the general lack of awareness has led to many unsavoury incidents, in which the tricolour is often mistreated.
A resident of Machampalayam near Sundarapuram has written a religious slogan beneath the flag " Jesus, bless our country India" and he has not lowered the flag even after independence day celebrations have ended.
While the other residents have lowered the flag by the evening of August 15, the said person has not followed the stipulations. A video of this incident has also set the social media abuzz.
Acting on a tip-off Kuniamuthur police have reached the spot and investigating the incident.
