Coimbatore: As a part of last "Aadi Velli'' celebrations organised at Arulmigu Maha Kaliamman temple at Big bazaar street, the deity was decked up in the pattern of the National flag using about five tons of colorful vegetables.
Special poojas were performed for the deity which was decked up in the pattern of the National flag and devotees thronged the temple to offer their prayers on the special occasion.
The temple precincts were also decorated with National flag bearing "Ashok chakra" patterns using vegetables.
The devotees said that "Adi Velli celebrations are really special in the temple.
And, today's "alangaaram" in view of the upcoming independence day celebrations is very touching."
