Coimbatore Zomato delivery boy brutally assaulted by a gang; cell phone, cash and two-wheeler stolen

A gang of three men along with their friends brutally assaulted the delivery boy and snatched his cell phone, cash and his two-wheeler and fled from the spot. The injured boy who is presently unfer treatment at Coimbatore GH has reached out to the Saibaba police station and filed a formal complaint.



Coimbatore: K. Vignesh (18) of Palayur near Periyanaickenpalayam was assaulted by unidentified persons, who also took away his cell phone, Rs.1,500 cash and two wheeler.

According to police Vignesh who is working as a delivery boy in Zomato food app, was returning home last night when he was waylaid by three persons, who forced him to drink liquor with them and threatened to snatch away his two wheeler.

Fearing of losing the two-wheeler, he along with the three men went to a TASMAC shop in Koundampalayam. And later they took him to a secluded spot near a railway track at Rathinapuri. Murugan was subjected to a brutal assault by the trio and a few others who joined them in which he was severely injured.

Later, the gang snatched his cell phone, cash and his two-wheeler and fled the spot. The injured Murugan who is presently bunfer treatment at Coimbatore GH has reached out to the Saibaba police station and filed a formal complaint.

The police are on the lookout for the trio who assaulted and robbed the Zomato delivery man.
