Tirupur: To mark the 75th anniversary of India's Independence and honour martyrs, the Tirupur District BJP presented cotton handloom sarees with photographs of the martyrs printed on them to the respective martyrs' families.
Even as preparations are in full swing ahead of the 75th Indian Independence Day, the Tirupur District BJP Women's Wing is honouring martyrs in a unique way. As a mark of respect to the martyrs who fought for freedom, cotton sarees woven in handlooms have photographs of martyrs printed on them with natural pigments. The sarees were presented to the families of the respective martyrs.
The first saree was presented to the family of martyr Sundarambal who was reputed for her participation from Tirupur in the freedom struggle. The event was attended by BJP functionaries.
