Celebrate 75th Independence Day by hoisting Tricolour at homes between Aug 13-15: Coimbatore Collector

Collector G S. Sameeran in a press release issued here today said that the general public should begin celebrating the nation's 75th independence day by hoisting the tricolour at their homes between August 13 -15, as a part of "Har Ghar Tiranga".


Coimbatore: District Collector G.S. Sameeran appealed the people in the district to celebrate the 75th Independence Day with patriotic fervour by hoisting the national flag in their homes, as part of "Azad Ka Amrit Mahotsav".

The Collector in a press release issued here today said that the general public should begin celebrating the nation's 75th independence day by hoisting the tricolour at their homes between August 13 -15, as a part of " Har Ghar Tiranga".

While appealing to the general public to honour the national flag and avoid any incidence of disrespect to it, the Collector said that the national flag is sacrosanct and shouldn't be disposed of in dustbins or open spaces..

Collector Sameeran exhorted the people to take part in the "Azad Ka Amrit Mahotsav" which is a big occasion and a country-wide celebration. By celebrating this milestone year of nation's independence, we as people should rededicate ourselves to national building, while honouring the spirit of sacrifice of the freedom fighters.

The Collector asked the oublic to extend help and cooperate with the panchayat officials and Self Help Groups (SHGs), who would help conduct the celebrations in a fitting manner.
