The shooters belonging to the Nehru Rifle Academy studying in various Government and private schools have won 4 Gold, 6 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in the 47TH State Level Shooting Competition.
Coimbatore, August 8, 2022 - Shooters belonging to the Nehru Rifle Academy studying in various Government and private schools have won 4 Gold, 6 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in the 47TH State Level Shooting Competition held at Trichy.
Nehru Rifle Academy President Dr. P Krishnakumar and Secretary S Ajay Athithan stated, "The Nehru Rifle Academy was inaugurated in the year 2016 and running successfully till now with 230 students trained in Shooting thus far. There has been more impetus on special training and personal coaching provided by renowned shooters at the Academy to help budding shooters participate in national and international level competitions. We are also providing all the special shooting range facilities along with sports quota for qualified shooters at our Academy in various departments."
Exulting on the stellar performance of their shooters, the Academy officials added, "From July 24 till 31, Rifle Club State Level Competitions were organized by the Tamil Nadu Shooting Association at Trichy and our Nehru Rifle Academy shooters Twinkle Yadav won the Gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Women's category, Preethi won the Gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Master Women's category, Jai Kishore won the Gold medal in the 50m Open Sight Rifle Prone Men's category, Karthik Dhanapal won the Bronze medal in the 50m Open Sight Rifle Prone Men's category, Shajay won a Bronze and 3 Silver medals in the 10m Open Sight Sub-Youth/ Youth/ Junior and Senior Men's categories, Manav won the Silver medal in the 10m Open Sight Sub-Youth Men's category, Swarnalatha won the Gold medal in the 10m Open Sight Master Women's category and Priyadharshini won the Silver medal in the 10m Open Sight Sub-Youth Women's category."
Coimbatore District Collector Dr.G S Sameeran congratulated each shooter personally and mentioned that the Indian sports team is also really doing well in the Commonwealth Games and Indian shooters in the World Cup also. The Collector lauded the winners of Nehru Rifle Academy and wished that in the years ahead, they would participate in national and international competitions and win laurels for the country.
Dr. P Krishnakumar, CEO Secretary (Nehru Group Of institutions / Vice-President (Nehru Rifle Academy), S Ajay Athithan, Secretary of the Academy, A Muralidharan, PRO/Director, parents of the shooters and the shooters participated in the medal distribution ceremony.
