Irregular bus service: Residents of Thennamanallur impound TNSTC bus amid pouring rains.

The residents alleged that the repeated petitioning and appeals to the authorities have only fallen on deaf ears. Presently, the bus services are unreliable and operated in an erratic manner due to which school and college going students and workers are affected.


Coimbatore: Amid pouring rains, residents of Thennamanallur near Thondamuthur impounded a TNSTC bus on Monday morning, condemning that the bus services to their locality have not been operated on time and only in an erratic manner.

The residents alleged that the repeated petitioning and appeals to the authorities have only fallen on deaf ears. Presently, the bus services are unreliable and operated in an erratic manner due to which school and college going students and workers are affected.

They demanded that the transport officials come to the spot to give assurance to operatebuses on time, lest they wouldn’t vacate the spot.

However, the Police who arrived at the scene held discussions with the residents and promised to take the matter to the transport authorities after which the protesters who staged the road block and impounded the bus dispersed from the scene.

Due to the protest, the commuters including students and workers were not able to reach their destination on time.
