Due to continuous rain in Coimbatore, more than 10 solar electric lamp poles in Valankulam banks have fallen down. People report that they are getting wet in the rain and are becoming damaged and useless.
Coimbatore: During the last AIADMK rule, Coimbatore Ukkadam Valankulam banks were strengthened and a lane was constructed on the banks of the pond for the use of the people to avoid traffic jams.
Also, under the Smart City project, modern solar lights were installed and maintained on all the ponds.
At present, due to continuous rains in Coimbatore district, more than 10 solar electric lamp poles erected on the lake shore have fallen down.
People report that the collapsed solar power light poles are getting wet in the rain, causing them to malfunction and become useless. Therefore, the concerned authorities have requested to take immediate action to repair the electric poles and re-install them.
