Coimbatore: A private gold jewelery manufacturing company is operating on Sullivan Street, Coimbatore. Jagadish (34) from Veerakeralam area of Coimbatore was working as a supervisor in this company.
Jagadish’s role in the company used to involve supply of gold bars to jewelers and also making jewellery. Also, he was doing jewelry quality and trade mark work.
On the day of the incident, when the manager Karthikeyan checked the accounts of the company, it was revealed that the account files had been amended and the records in the computer had been changed in the last 6 months. Jagadish was found to have cheated 1,467 grams of gold bars worth Rs 55 lakh.
Subsequently, Karthikeyan lodged a complaint with the Variety Hall Road police. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case against Jagadish and are investigating.
