Food festival at Kangayam on behalf of food safety department; variety of cuisines attracted the public!

Tirupur District Collector Vineeth cut the ribbon and inaugurated the food festival. Food stalls and folk cultural programmes on food security were held to attract everyone from children to adults.


Tirupur: Food safety awareness rally and Tirupur food festival started today at Kangayam by Tirupur District Food Safety Department with the aim of creating awareness about safe and healthy food types among the people.

Tirupur District Collector Vineeth inaugurated the food festival by cutting the ribbon and visited the halls. Food stalls and village arts programs on food security were held to attract everyone from children to adults.

As part of the festival, a 'Food Safety Awareness Rally' was held from the Kangyam District Development Office premises starting at 9 am. There were 50 halls like food safety awareness halls, vegetarian and non-vegetarian food halls which are the taste symbol of Tirupur district, other government department halls, medical camps, traditional food items of Tamils.

More than a thousand women belonging to women's self-help groups, college students, women, businessmen and general public participated in large numbers and enjoyed various dishes.



Cooking enthusiasts have prepared and showcased dishes under 10 topics: healthy cooking, fast cooking, no-oven cooking, children's cooking, traditional cooking, south Indian cooking, small grain cooking, dairy cooking, forgotten dishes and culinary decoration.

The competition was judged by celebrity chef Seb Thamu, who participated and demonstrated different cooking techniques and also judged the cooking competitions and selected the best flavors.

3 people were selected in each category and prizes were awarded. The winners of this competition will be awarded the title of "Queen of Beauty" as the top winners will be selected for the finals.
