Tirupur: The 25th State conference of the Communist Party of India (CPI) commenced with flag hoisting at Tirupur, today. Veteran communist leader, Nallakannu hoisted the party flag.

The four-day conference is being held at Chandrapuram at Tirupur at a private marriage hall.

The martyrs memorial torch which was brought to the venue from various places in the state was received by CPM National Secretary T. Raja.

As a part of the inaugural day's agenda, the social justice and states rights protection conference will be conducted in the evening. Chief minister M.K. Stalin is to address this conference through video conference, followed by TN Congress chief Alagiri and VCK chief Thol. Thirumavalavan, and Manitha Neya Makka Katchi President Jawaharullah. The leaders are scheduled to deliver special address on this occasion.
