Kodanad case: Former editor of Namadhu Amma daily questioned by special team in Coimbatore

The special police team which is probing the sensational Kodanad heist cum murder case has interrogated the former editor of "Namadhu Amma" Tamil daily, Marudhu Alaguraj today, at PRS Grounds in Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: Kodanad case: Former editor of Namadhu Amma daily questioned by special team in Coimbatore. The special police team which is probing the sensational Kodanad heist cum murder case has interrogated the former editor of 'Namadhu Amma' Tamil daily, Marudhu Alaguraj today, at PRS Grounds in Coimbatore.

Following the sensational murder which happened on April 24, 2017 at the Kodanad estate bungalow, the domicile of former CM J.Jayalalitha, a case has been registered by the Kothagiri police.The case, which is pending in the Nilgiris district court has been dragging on for the past five years, with minimal breakthrough achieved so far.

Five special police teams have been formed to investigate the case, which is headed by IG Sudhakar and DIG Muthusamy, and so far 267 witnesses have been summoned and questioned including former MLA Arukutty from Coimbatore.

Marudhu Alaguraj who was summoned today for investigation, in his Twitter postedthat he would appear before the special team for inquiries in the Kodanad case today. The journalist has recently resigned his post as the editor of 'Amma' daily following the political differences that came to the fore between the OPS and EPS factions.

Alaguraj has also said that the accused in the Kodanad case have revealed that one Salem Elangovan, who is considered to be a close associate of EPS has contacted the accused persons in the case.

'If the police conduct inquiries with Salem Elangovan and also and take my testimony, revealing facts would surface in the sensational case' Alaguraj said.

It may be recalled that in the sensational Kodanad heist cum murder case , the watchman of the bungalow Om Bahadur was murdered and and heist attempt was also made. KothagiriPolice have so far arrested 11 persons including Sayan, Valayar Manjoj, Deepu, Satheesan, Santhosh samy, and Uthayakumar and further investigations are going on.
