Following torrential rains experienced in the Western Ghats areas in the past few days, flooding has occurred in the feeder channels of the check dam and water is gushing in the Sunnambu Kalvai checkdam on the Coimbatore - Palakkad road.
Coimbatore: The police have issued a public warning not to venture near the Sunnambu Kalvai check dam at Kumiamuthur here, in wake of flooding due to heavy rains in the catchment areas.

Prioritising public safety, the city police have directed that people should not go venture into water bodies for bathing, fishing or clicking selfies.
While the city of Coimbatore has experienced moderate rains for the day, a heavy downpour is experienced in the areas near the Western Ghats in the coming days.
