Youth arrested for selling ganja in city's Thondamuthur area; 1.2 kg ganja seized

The police seized 1.2 kg of ganja from the youth who was standing suspiciously near the Thondamuthur-Pudur Road, arrested him and produced him in Court, and sent him to jail.


Coimbatore: The City Police arrested a young man who was standing suspiciously near the Thondamuthur-Pudur Road in Coimbatore and seized 1.2 kg ganja from him. He was later produced in Court and imprisoned in jail.

The Thondamuthur police had received information about youth being targeted for the sale of ganja near Barber Colony on Thondamuthur-Pudur Road in Coimbatore. Subsequently, the police team led by Sub-Inspector Arul Prakash conducted a search and nabbed the youth who was standing suspiciously in the area and interrogated him. Since the youth was contradicting himself while answering, the police searched him out of suspicion and found that he was in possession of ganja. Subsequently, the arrested youth was identified as Vijay (26), son of Chinnaraj from the same area and it was revealed that he roamed around the area selling ganja to the youth.
