Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Pratap inspected shops on G V Ramasamy Road in Rathinapuri under the Coimbatore Corporation Central Zone and briefed shop owners about the ill effects of using banned plastic bags.
Coimbatore: On receiving information that in Coimbatore Central Zone's Rathinapuri area, the quality of food items being sold on G V Ramasamy Road was questionable and that plastic products banned by the Tamil Nadu Government were being used, the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner M Pratap personally visited the area to inspect.
During the inspection, the CCMC Commissioner instructed the shop owners that the employees should be granted all Government holidays and that plastic bags banned by the Government should not be used. He also explained to the shop owners the ill effects caused by using banned plastic items.
The Central Zonal Assistant Commissioner Shankar, Assistant Executive Engineer Bhuvaneshwari, Member of Parliament Prabhakaran, Assistant Town Planning Officer Babu, Health Officer Ramachandran, Health Inspector Chandran and Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
